Government & Education Price List
Basic Licence
This licence allows you to print & photocopy, digitally copy, electronically store and distribute (via email or intranet) articles to people within your organisation for internal business purposes, for the term of your annual licence.
The Basic Licence permits this copying and use of articles from print publications and website publications on the ‘Basic Licence Publications list’.
Please note that:
- where publishers require registration or a fee to see content on a website, you would still need to do that to access that content;
- not all content in publications is included in the licence – see the MCA’s Licence Terms & Conditions.

Indemnity Licence Fee
Under the terms of an End User Licence Agreement (EULA), the MCA indemnifies licensees against certain third-party claims for the term of the licensee’s licence under the EULA (Standard Indemnity). The Standard Indemnity does not extend to any use or copying prior to the term of that licence so MCA may grant a separate indemnity for certain prior use where MCA considers that it is appropriate to do so.
The indemnity for prior use covers certain unlicensed copying or use of our members’ publications prior to a licence under an EULA commencing. The indemnity for prior use fee is calculated using the information provided in the current licence.
